Epidemiology of Health Promotion

Select one of the epidemiologic core functions and provide an example of the how the core function might be demonstrated in clinical practice by an advanced nurse practitioner.
There are six core epidemiological functions: surveillance, field investigations, analytical studies, evaluation, linkages, and policy. Although most healthcare professionals are familiar with the functions of health surveillance, field investigation, and analytic studies, and the investigation of health problems, they may be less aware of the core functions of linkages and policy. Linkages entail collaboration of agencies, organizations, governments and healthcare professionals.
